Introduction
The rules by which Shenandoah Valley Electric Cooperative is
governed by are spelled out in its
Bylaws. The bylaws,
and any amendments, are approved by the membership. The bylaws
of Shenandoah Valley Electric Cooperative were last revised
in June, 2001.
All of the Cooperative's rates are based upon the cost to
service a class of consumers. The rates
the Cooperative charges in Virginia and West Virginia are based
on detailed cost of service studies that are reviewed and
approved by either the
Virginia State Corporation Commission or the
Public Service Commission
of West Virginia.
The Commissions in Virginia and West Virginia have also approved
terms and conditions under which the Cooperative will provide
electric distribution service to its customers. The Cooperative's
Virginia Terms and
Conditions were approved in December 2001 and it's
West Virginia Terms
and Conditions were approved in March 1993.
